Which version of liveCD should I try?

Postby donnybb » Tue Dec 28, 2010 3:59 pm

I am fairly new to Linux, but would like to have a LiveCD/DVD that can boot without a HDD. I am tired of disinfecting my wife's computer because of her surfing habits and thought a CD/DVD/USB stick version would be the way to go. She is not going to change her habits, so want something that will not save anything she does and is brand-new clean each tim it's booted. The only requirements would be to have a browser, Flash and audio (For Youtube). I don't need openOffice, calculator, notepad, etc. Any suggestions? BTW, I have tried two already without success, so would like something that would be easy (no tweaking).
The ones I have tried are:
DreamLinux - I could not boot because of an error that said, "Failed to start X-Server (graphical interface).
MintLinux - I could boot it up, but could not figure out how to get audio. Tried alsamixer and checked all the audio levels - no success.

So you can see I would like one that just works the first time. I am open to Linux or any other open source OS that works.
