All-Around Utility Live CD

Postby nick » Sun Nov 21, 2004 9:13 pm

Vote here for your favorite utility live CD. This includes diagnostics, rescue, forensics, etc. If there were one live CD to take to every tech support job, vote for it here.

If there is a live CD that should be part of this poll, please post to this thread, and it will be added.

Another Knoppix vote here, but I can tell by all the votes Kanotix is getting that I need to try it. :)

Just whant to add that NimbleX should be added here too, to minimal Desktop pool and also to best hardware support. NimbleX seems to support more hardware than Fedora so please add it to the other pools too!

Have we gotta mutiny here LOL

Wow Kanotix wins out over ultimate boot cd duh ?????

I'd like to see how many rescues where done in a mixed environment
of all versions of windows and linux combined.

There isn't a day goes by in the last 15yrs that some whiner
doesn't come to my lab crying about how his weinerdos wind up toy
soldier os has run down again due to bugs, exploits, mal something,
or virus's and sometimes due to cockpit error.....again being the
important word here.....

the first thing I boot is ultimate boot disk to take that first peak
at the hardware and xpe to move the women and children to the life
boats before I set his deck on fire (format and reinstall).

I can believe knoppix....that is the ultimate hardware boot tell me
what the hell is inside this beast as linux see's it...

but kanotix......WHAT
maybe we got some kiddies here trying to zoom their favorite
to the top like on the old call in radio shows.....LOL
