Best GNU/Linux LiveCDrom

Postby pberry26 » Fri Nov 23, 2007 9:10 am

Well, need CATEGORIES!

Smallest yet full of tools and apps. is DamnSmallLinux

But, I also carry, in my shirt pocket, a mini CD of the best runner-up, mini-Knoppix!

Neatest one for converting Vista users, is Vixta.org at Sourceforge!

Most full with Synaptic database style tracking, updating, is Mepis!

Best for 64bit, SMP, is Mepis 64 bit.

Best for displaying foreign OS on Knoppix Live CD, is FreeSBIE! BSD boots live on Knoppix.

Best for a lite version of BSD on Knoppix CLOOP live CD is Frenzy!

________________________________________________________________

Not live, but, important to my networks!

Servers? Small, quick, home server is SLAMPP based upon XLAMP.

Best Firewall/Router is IPCOP

PC-BSD for a powerful BSD system!

What's your choices?

I'd vote for Puppy Linux but it's not in the list, although it's also been proposed by Peppyy. Its ultra-easy use conquers even women users!
