Installing on Multi-boot

Postby Gonzoman » Tue Nov 01, 2005 7:33 am

I want to build a new machine sometime in the next few months. I'm thinking of XP (yes, HAVE to have for work) multi-booted with one of the large distros, Like Fedora, Debian, or Slackware. But, I also like some of these live-cd distros. PHLAK and the Science CDs are real cool.

I can do the multi-boot partititions using grub easily enough. But what I would REALLY like to do is have ONE Knoppix based distro installed then cherry pick some of the best features and apps from the live-cd's on this list.

Is THAT doable? If so, how?

Two things I've had trouble getting to work on the live-cds. CUPS for printing to my USB printer, and Wi-Fi, but wired networking works just fine. Any suggestions on those?

Also, do any of the Clustering Knoppix support 802.11/g?

TIA,
Gonzo
