Most of the download links try to go directly to the download page or ISO file list. It's probably a better idea to click on the name of the distro and check out the homepage for better instructions.

> Lots of file

Search the appropriate ISO on the distro website.

If there is no information, search the latest version.
Usually the latest version have the largest number after the latest dot.

(ie version 1.25 is newer than 1.7, 1.23 is newer 1.11 etc)

Also several LiveCD have multiple language version.

Usually on the filename there is a country code:
en === english
de === germany
fr === french
pt === portugese
cn === chinese
jp === japanese

Several LiveCD also have DVD version. The size of the ISO is greater than 700 Megabytes.

Several LiveCD have "alpha", "beta" or "unofficial" versions that may contain bugs. Avoid these versions and use "stable" version.

LiveCD with low version number usually unstable / buggy.

(ie 0.1, 0.2, 0.3 etc)

The stable version usually 1, greater than 1 or near 1:

(ie: 0.9, 1.0, 1.1, 2.0 etc)
