Suggestions on what live-cd to use

Postby teoskalp » Sat Jan 07, 2006 5:43 am

Hi guys
I'd like to use a live-cd free distibution to turn my 2nd pc as file/nas and downloads server.
I need to share files to my xbox (smb) and to windows too.
The downloads I do are mostly torents.
I need also usb support for my external hard drives.
So is there any nice and easy to use live cd to do that smoothly and fast?
I have a litle experience on linux and my 2nd pc is a p4 at 2Gig with 256 ram.
Any suggestions would be really helpful
Thanks for your time

Try Knoppix. For Samba:

For bittorrent, you can use the original client from Cohen:
(btdownloadgui.py ....)

External data storage (USB):
