Just thought I'd let everyone know that we have just started a forum based around Pendrive linux compilations.

You can come check us out here:

We are looking for moderators and could always use new members.

Thanks LiveCD Forums for your time. :wink:

CUSTOMIZING PENDRIVELINUX

Postby kb5lnx » Sun Jan 20, 2008 11:16 pm

Sorry but I did not see a forum to join on pendrivelinux.com;
the forum entries listed in the left margin on the site seem to be posted by staff members, not by users who have joined. Please give a more specific link or details on the forum you started?
In the meantime, I found it very easy to join this forum - so I hope you can help me here.

I really like Pendrivelinux, especially because:
__it is so easy to install on a USB drive
__you can run it entirely from RAM, thus saving the flashdrive from rewrites
__it has a windows-like file management interface that accesses automatically all your data devices and shows them as icons, whatever their file system is (FAT32, NTFS, Linux)
__it has superior hardware detection - connected to net instantly
__it is very easy to add apps

1)__...Well... it seems perfect? -- except that, I do not like the music it plays when booting up... I tried in vain and really need to remove it or stop it from playing.

2)--I would like to remove the background image also, but that is not as critical as the opening sound; I did see a way to do this via the menus, but could not save the change, though I had loaded the distro as "persistent".

You must know this distro very well to start a forum in its own backyard, so please help me with these issues
Please help with the bootup sound at least to start, the desktop image as well if you have time?
