Is there a LiveCD distro with Promise RAID controller?

Postby drabusharr » Tue Sep 19, 2006 10:00 am

I am trying to repair a corrupted XP system on a pair of striped drives (RAID0) on an Asus p4c800 deluxe boards. The drives are S-ATA and use the onboard Promise 20378 controller for the RAID. I cannot get most of the LiveCDs that I have tried to recognize the drives as a RAID array and therefore cannot seem to repair or extract the data from the drives.

Does anyone know (for a non techie like me) a way to have the RAID recognized or find a Live CD that contains the drivers for the controller???

Thanks guys.

Perhaps you should change some BIOS setting.
Have you try Gentoo LiveCD with dmraid or Knoppix 5?
