Create your own LiveCD using Linux Source and BusyBox

The link above also includes configuring Openssh as well. It's all in tutorial format. Includes source, iso - basically everything you might need.

Hope this helps,

Regards,

Mike Chirico

Puppy Unleashed is a great alternative. Use only what you want and make it as small or large as you want.

KANOTIX and KNOPPIX
grow-knoppix
http://grow-knoppix.berlios.de/

This is aimed at very easy use to produce a clone CD DVD
of the original with you own background, added content
and programs. This is not a remaster but your secretary
can hand you an updated live CD in 15 minutes.

Adding programs and union file system are best with KANOTIX

@cintra
Ya i have slax ,
But i need something to build it from scrap.
Some of these tuts are specifically meant for Debian derivatives and/or other distros.
I already used live scripts to generate ISO from slackware 10.2 , but i need to keep my hand in every aspect of the pr0cess
.
any how Thanks pal .

Ah yes, I see your entries there.. good to have someone interested in the basics ;-)

My main distro is Gentoo, and I had almost decided to give up trying to get Slax to work after configrestore, when I found the 'changes=/dev/device' cheatcode, and did a Poormans install. Together with 'toram' it makes for a very fast boot (under a minute), and flexibility un/loading modules to/from the /slax folder.

It does (almost) everything I'm used to using in Gentoo, and I find myself just switching on my PC and letting it boot automatically into Slax (using Grub CD or floppy).

Firefox has my active tabs ready, and konsole has the tabs I like too. Yes, its a great little distro!
