This is version 0.9.9b1, a beta version, based upon the upcoming release of Ubuntu, Hoary. Above all, a brand new Gnome 2.9.90, support fo usb mass storage booting and some other features, as support for CD writers. The Live CD is 594 MB of size and we took some screenshots too for your pleasure.

Ubuntu is suitable for both desktop and server use. The current Ubuntu release supports Intel x86 (IBM-compatible PC), AMD64 (Hammer) and PowerPC (Apple iBook and Powerbook, G4 and G5) architectures.

Please add it to the Database.

Added them to the PowerPC function, thanks for the heads up. I didn't have much luck with the last one on a 733 G4, but I definitly going to try the new one tomorrow :)

Wow, this one worked perfectly. This is the first time I've seen a live CD boot into a full Gnome environment on a Mac! Sweet! It took a long time, but i'm only on a 733 G4.

Time to burn copies for all my mac friends :D

update:
I just tried it on a powerbook G4 (866?) and it worked perfectly again. It detected the optimal screen resolution for the widescreen laptop, and even the wireless network works (nice gui wifi tool!). I'm very impressed.
