Desktop and OS replacement - What do they mean?

Postby linuxn00bee » Tue Feb 03, 2009 2:59 pm

Hi ALL,

Forgive my ignorance but for some time now I have been wondering what is the difference between these two terms? What do they exactly mean? In my limited understanding they are one and the same.

Thanks.

I meant for OS Replacement to refer to a LiveCD whose purpose is to allow installation of itself to a hard drive, ie an Installation CD, but in LiveCD form. Desktop refers to regular Desktop computer usage, while OS Replacement could be desktop, or server, or anything else.
