try all to compare method of creating live-CD

Postby hasna » Mon May 23, 2005 4:10 am

hello,
I am done a comparison between the important methods of creating live CD;
To compare these methods, I decide on theses criterions:
 Compression: rate of compression when we creat .iso.
 Personnalisation : difficulty of personnalisation of distribution
 Creation: difficulty and rapidity of creation of live distribution.
 Facility and method of boot: how to boot with live CD and difficulty of boot.
 Installation of live distribution: difficulty of installation of live distribution
 features : possibility of adding tools to live distribution
Theses index are:
+ + + : excellent
+ + : good
+ : acceptable
- : bad
-- : very bad
0 : not prevue

I am excuse for bad representation of table
I’am attending all comments to ameliorate this comparison

I did not test all methods but linux live has a very important quality, it allows creation of livecd using any distro... you can create livecd from Debian, Slack, Mandrake, Gentoo... everyone...
