LiveCD with Extensible Firmware Interface Support

Postby anony » Thu Jan 12, 2006 9:59 am

There are new machines that use Extensible Firmware Interface (EFI), not the ordinary PC BIOS.

Example: new Apple computers with Intel CPU.

Is there any Linux LiveCD with EFI support?

I believe the Gentoo and Ubuntu 4.10 Itanum LiveCDs have EFI support, but i'm not aware of any x86 LiveCDs that do.

Also there's an EFI Boot loader on sourceforge. I don't know if it'll run off a CD, but it's open source, so if it doesn't, maybe someone will add that support.
