The new organization accelerates the growth of Linux by providing a comprehensive set of services to compete effectively with closed platforms."

What is the impact and benefit from this new foundation?

Will they release a standard "lowest common denominator" LiveCD for testing application portability?
(ie if an application run on this LiveCD, it will run on all major Linux LiveCD)
