A qoute from there site - "Pollix is a Live CD with many programming tools (for Java, Python, Perl and Tcl/Tk). Based on Knoppix, Pollix boots from the CD and detects hardware automatically - there is no need for installation"

Its desktop Linux distrobution with alot of programming tools.
