The Backpack Programmer's LiveCD is focused on programmers with many programming utilites (all gcc tools, xxgdb, Gnome and KDE header files, and more) included. It also aims to be a fully-operational, good-looking linux environment -- seriously, what programmer isn't a power-user?

The torrent (and more information) is available at: http://daga.dyndns.org/projects/backpack/
screenshots are available too: http://daga.dyndns.org/images/backpack/

Here are some of the highlights of this Slackware 10.1-based release:

* Dropline-Gnome 2.10
* Python works out-of-the-box
* Sound drivers are now included
* Inclusion of console IRC clients -- irssi and epic
* Removal of some non-essential KDE components
* Internationalization with many languages and locales to choose from
* Menu-driven lauch of Apache, and SSH servers [and firewall modifications for them]
